Wine Buddy Academy - 20 June

Don't miss the chance to buy the featured wine during our Wine Buddy Academy. Let's Chill out!

1) Foss Marai Millesimato Prosecco DOCG Superiore di Cartizze Dry
A unique spumante wine of its kind, obtained by processing the Prosecco grapes grown in the small hilly area of Valdobbiadene (104 hectares overall) known as Cartizze. The Cartizze Foss Marai has an intense wisteria aroma, with a hint of rose. It is rich and varied to the taste, and not overly sweet. Excellent before and throughout the meal, and always equal to every situation.

2) Noelia Ricci Bro Bianco Forli' IGT
On the slopes overlooking the Adriatic sea, Trebbiano thrives here along with some other local varieties thrown into the blend to add depth of flavour. Piercing minerality and fresh citrus tones dominate the palate whilst gentle lees stiring rounds off the palate.

3) Frescobaldi Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG
It is an intense ruby red that introduces a bouquet of floral bergamot and orange balanced with spiced scents of coffee powder and jasmine tea. When tasted it is balanced, complex, fresh and persistent. The tannins blend well with the body resulting in a wine that is silky and harmonious. The wine’s acidic component is noteworthy and joins elegantly with the alcoholic content. Raspberries and a light liquorice note joined by juniper berries leave a distinctive finish.

4) Pio Cesare Barolo DOCG
A classic style Barolo. Excellent structure, harmony, elegance. Soft tannins and balanced fruit. Approachable, but with a very long ageing potential. Barolo is such a great wine which should not be described as a “basic” or “regular” Barolo, simply because it does not have any additional indication on the label.

5) Santa Sofia Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG
Ripe cherries, cassis and prunes; hints of milk chocolate, rhubarb and balsamic mentholated tobacco.
