There are some songs you will listen in the same period of time every year, when the music started to play, you will be in the festive mood. It's Christmas songs, what else?
Christmas carols were religious music, but after all these years, they appear in all countries, nationalities and languages. You will find different genres which are recorded by Jazz or Pop singers. Wherever you play a Christmas album, it's a party. If you want to make your party more fun, some bottles of wine will help. However, you should select the right ones, or the party will be spoiled.
If you fancy traditional jazz vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald or Nat King Cole, try to pair the wines which give you the same warm feelings, Chateauneuf-du-Pape from southern Rhone Valley or Barossa Valley Shiraz from South Australia are your obvious choices. The spiciness of them will warm your palate as well as your soul.
If your favourite artists are Mariah Carey or Justin Bieber, you better prepare a bottle of Champagne or Napa Valley Chardonnay. These cheesy Christmas songs are more lively and upbeat, just like the bubbles of Champagne jumping in your mouth, or the roundness of the oaky Chardonnay with a hint of freshness.
Try this marriage of music and wine, and make your Christmas party sparkle.
