Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Haut Brion has a perfumed bouquet with abundant red fruit, sage, sandalwood and black olive scents that just seem to soar from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, beautifully
There's beautiful sweetness of fruit on the nose, with floral and ripe plum undertones. Very aromatic and subtle. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a delicate fruit finish. Refined. Best after 2013. 8,750 cases made.
Evolved crimson. Very heady and rich; you could almost take this for a right bank wine. Hedonistic. Dry finish. But velvety and dramatic.
Medium/full bodied, with elegance and charm, coupled with softness on the palate. Cigar box, tobacco, dark cherry and smoked earth create the nose. The mouth feel is really fine, with its ripe, polished, silky tannins. Not deep, but ready to drink and more than charming. Compared with La Mission Haut Brion, here, you find more elegance and refinement in the tannins. There is less density, but the palate feel makes up the the difference.
