Casanova di Neri is always towards the top of the pack in every Brunello vintage. It is actually one of Italy’s most admired producers. The estate was founded by Giacomo Neri back in 1971. Still in the hands Giacomo and his family, they now cultivate 63 ha. of vines situated right in front of the pretty little town of Montalcino. A famous traditionalist in the region, the estate’s Sangiovese is both powerful and accessible.

Tasted blind. Concentrated mid ruby. Fresh, firm and concentrated dark fruit on the nose. Concentrated and ripe with gorgeous tannic bite and bags of tangy fruit and hints of nutty oak on the finish. Flashy but has real substance. (WS)
