Although viticulture had been always part of the Galician Pazo of Barrantes Palace, own by the Creixell family since 1511, it wasn’t until 1991 when Vicente Cebrián Sagarriga, Count of Creixell, founded Pazo de Barrantes Winery next to the centennial property. The new project followed the ancient building aesthetical patterns, while inside it was supplied with the lastest technology to guarantee the achievement of an excellent quality albariño wine.
Since 1996, the estate has been run by his children, sharing with its Riojan twin, Marqués de Murrieta, the responsibility of consolidating their white Albariño wines amongst the best ones in the world.
Successive investments in the winery and vineyards are examples of the future vision of one of the most renowned estates in Galicia.
